Construction of two administrative buildings 'Riga Bauskas Project', Riga, Latvia
The development consists of two administrative buildings (Troja & LKF) constructed in timber. Both cross laminated and glued laminated timber were utilized throughout the structure. The buildings are supported by reinforced concrete bored piles.
The particular challenges encountered during the course of the project were constructability and building law difficulties as well as logistical and communication barriers.
The timber columns incorporated into the the front facade of the building were a specific request from the Latvian Wood Industry Federation for a striking homage to timber construction.
